Kuwagaradake is a 598 m bell-shaped rock peak rising from the Nishi-Jōshū hills in western Tomioka City, Gunma — known locally also as Sekison-san. Despite the modest elevation the upper section is a near-continuous string of fixed-chain rock pitches climbing a knife-edge of bare rock to the summit, and it is regularly cited as one of the standout chain-climb peaks of the Nishi-Jōshū region. The top opens a clear view over Tomioka, the jagged Myōgi range, and the table cliffs of Arafune-yama.
