Mt. Kusenbudake

A 1,062 m volcanic peak rising north-west of Unzen-dake in Unzen City, Nagasaki Prefecture, within the Unzen-Amakusa National Park. The summit commands a 360-degree panorama over the higher Unzen group — Fugen-dake, Kunimi-dake and Myōken-dake — and in early summer the slopes are coated white by mass-flowering Japanese dogwood (yamabōshi). The Tashirobaru basin between Kusenbu-dake and Azuma-dake, locally branded "Oku-Unzen", hosts a trail centre that doubles as the Kyūshū Nature Trail trailhead. The peak is included in the "Kyūshū Hyakumeizan" and "Bunken Tozan Guide: Nagasaki-ken no Yama" lists.
