妙見岳

A 1,333-meter peak in the Unzen volcanic complex of Unzen City, Nagasaki. The Unzen Ropeway carries visitors from Nita-tōge to a station near the summit, opening sweeping views across Heisei-Shinzan, the Ariake Sea, and the Amakusa islands. The ridge is famous for Miyama-kirishima azaleas in late May to early June, autumn foliage, and winter rime ice. It lies within Unzen-Amakusa National Park.
