Mt. Kogorō is a 1,161.7 m peak in Usagō, Nishiki-chō of Iwakuni City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, one of the principal summits in the northern Kanmuri Range of the Nishi-Chūgoku Mountains. Within Nishi-Chūgoku Sanchi Quasi-National Park, it forms a north–south ridge with steep east and west valleys. Formerly called Usaga-take, it was renamed after a legend of a samurai retainer named Kogorō and a swift horse said to have wandered here. Bamboo grass (kuma-zasa) blankets the summit, and on clear days the view sweeps over Jakuchi-san, Migitani-yama and Rakan-san. Listed in Chūgoku 100, Yamaguchi 100 and other regional guides.
