Mount Yanbushi

A 2,013 m peak on the border of Hayakawa Town (Yamanashi) and Aoi Ward, Shizuoka City, standing at the southern end of the Shirane Southern Ridge in the Akaishi Mountains. As the highest peak in the Abe River basin, it is regarded as the lead summit of the Abe-Oku range, with sweeping views of the southern Southern Alps and Mount Fuji. Its grassy summit is famous for fields of fireweed (yanagiran) blooming in mid-summer. The mountain is selected for the Japan 300 Famous Mountains, the Yamanashi 100, and the Shizuoka 100.
