Oyarei (1,999.7 m) rises on the border of Aoi Ward, Shizuoka City, and Yamanashi Prefecture, at the headwaters of the Abe River in the Abeoku area. Its southern face is scarred by the Oya-kuzure, a massive collapse triggered by the 1707 Hoei earthquake and counted as one of Japan's three great landslide scars. Often traversed together with Hakkorei and Yamabushi, it is listed among the "100 Mountains of Kai" and the "100 Mountains of Shizuoka."
