This out-and-back climb starts at the Nishihikagezawa parking area and follows the streamside trail through Yomogi Pass to the 2,013-metre summit of Mount Yanbushi. The upper mountain opens into grass and bamboo-grass clearings dotted with standing dead trees, with views of Mount Fuji and the southern Japanese Alps.
