Mount Sarayama is a 1,303 m peak southwest of Sunasenrigahama on the upper slopes of Aso, within Aso-Kuju National Park in Kumamoto Prefecture. A nearby path toward Nakadake and Takadake serves as a detour when access around the crater is restricted. It cannot be used at eruption alert level 3 or above, or whenever safe passage cannot be assured. The mountain offers wide views of the outer caldera rim and Mount Sobo.
