Mount Megami
女神山

Mount Megami is a 599 m peak on the border of Kawamata Town and Tsukidate-machi (Date City) in Fukushima Prefecture, named for its goddess-like silhouette as an isolated cone. The summit holds a first-class triangulation point and is revered as the resting place of Princess Otehime, who is credited with introducing sericulture and silk weaving to the Kawamata area. Three trails - the Morisawa, Horikiri and Kunugi-hira routes - are maintained by Kawamata Town, and the summit affords views of the Zao, Azuma and Adatara ranges. The peak is included in the Utsukushima 100 Mountains and related Fukushima lists.
