Mount Toratori

Toratoriyama (705 m) is a rocky peak in Iitate, Fukushima Prefecture, listed among the Utsukushima (Fukushima) 100 Famous Mountains. The worship hall of Yamatsumi Shrine stands at its foot and the main shrine atop boulders at its summit, a long-standing site of mountain and wolf worship. Its name ("tiger-catching mountain") derives from a Heian-period legend in which Minamoto no Yoriyoshi, guided by a white wolf, captured the bandit Tachibana no Sumitora.
