Mount Kuro is a 1,086.5-metre peak in the Suyama area of Susono City, Shizuoka Prefecture, lying at the centre of the Ashitaka Range as a south-eastern satellite of Mount Echizen. The standard route ascends from Yamaji-jinja car park via Fujimi Pass to the summit, where a sweeping view of Mount Fuji opens just below the top. Susono City publishes an official Ashitaka-renpō (Echizen-dake / Kurodake) climbing guide, and the peak is included on the Mountains Visible from Fuji 223 list.
