Mount Hōei

Hōeisan is a 2,693 m parasitic cone on the southeast flank of Mount Fuji — the largest and most recent of Fuji's side vents, thrown up by the great Hōei eruption of 1707. Its summit sits on the rim above the kilometre-wide Hōei No. 1 crater and can be reached in about two hours on foot from the Fujinomiya 5th Station via the Hōei Walking Trail, making it a popular non-summit objective on Fuji and the linking point of the so-called Prince Route to the Gotemba Route. The peak lies inside Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park.
