Mount Ishidate

Mount Ishidate is a 1,707.7 m peak straddling the border between Naka Town (Tokushima) and Kami City (Kōchi), forming the southern terminus of Kenzan Quasi-National Park within the southern Tsurugi range. A small Ishidate Shrine on the summit, dedicated to Ōyamatsumi and En-no-Gyōja, sits across both prefectures, while limestone cliffs, distinctive alpine flora and stands of dakekanba birch ring the upper slopes. It features in the Shikoku 100 Famous Mountains, Shikoku 100 Mountains and Furusato 100 Mountains lists, but is reckoned among Shikoku's hardest climbs because of its steep, rocky approaches.
