Ikawa Ski Resort Kainayama sits at about 1,100 m on the northwest slope of Mt. Kainayama in Miyoshi, Tokushima, and dates from 1927, making it the oldest ski area in Shikoku. Backed by snowmaking, it offered four runs: the 800 m Nadeshiko beginner trail through cedar woods, the main Panorama intermediate slope and the 25-degree Takuira advanced run, plus a kids' area with a sled course and Saturday night skiing in January and February. Falling visitor numbers, ageing lifts and rising power costs left the operator unable to continue, and operations were suspended after the 2025-26 season, which ended a week early on 1 March 2026.
