Mount Kaina (1,333 m) lies in Miyoshi City, Tokushima Prefecture, within the Iya group of the Shikoku Mountains. Its broad, gently sloping summit carries some four kilometres of miscanthus grassland; the northwestern flank holds the Ikawa Ski Resort (opened in 1927 and regarded as the oldest in southern Japan), while the 53-hectare Kaina Prefectural Pasture occupies the southwestern slope. Used for hiking in summer and skiing in winter, it is counted among the Shikoku Hyakuzan.
