Mount Hakase

Mount Hakase is a 1,482 m peak in central Aizu, Fukushima Prefecture, standing at the borders of Yanaizu, Aizumisato, and Showa. It is topped by a first-class triangulation point and is renowned for its old-growth beech forest and confirmed golden-eagle nesting sites. The mountain is counted among Japan's Hundred Mountains with First-Class Triangulation Points, the Tohoku Hyakumeizan, and the Utsukushima Hyakumeizan of Fukushima.
