Rising behind Daikozenji Temple, the mountain is associated with a legend that Ninigi no Mikoto and Konohanasakuya-hime exchanged marriage vows on its summit. Residents of Komatsu at its foot once gathered firewood and made charcoal here, while water from the mountain has supplied the settlement’s channels.
