Kitamatadake

北股岳

Kitamatadake is a 2024.9 m peak near the center of the Iide Range, on the boundary between Oguni Town in Yamagata Prefecture and Shibata City in Niigata Prefecture. Its gentle western slope contrasts with the precipitous eastern flank, and Kairagi Hut stands in the saddle just below the summit. The mountain lies within Bandai-Asahi National Park, and its long approaches make an overnight stay in a mountain hut the usual plan.
