Kamuinupuri is usually approached from the Horobetsu Dam side on a trail through Sakhalin fir forest, with stream crossings and a chain section before the seventh station. Kamui Hut stands at the sixth station; it is closed in summer, but its toilet remains available. The summit overlooks the Pacific, Washibetsudake and Muroran, and a traverse continues to Washibetsudake.
