Lodge at Shinkoshi-nokkoshi, 2,465m, on the Ushiro-Tateyama range. It stands on the ridge between Narusawadake (2,641m) and Iwagoyazawadake and is run by the same operator as Taneike Sanso and Tsumetaike Sanso, serving as a staging point on the traverse from Jiigatake toward Harinokidake. In 2026 it opens from 15 July to 26 September, the shortest season of the three huts. Capacity is about 35 — it was 80 before the pandemic — and booking is compulsory. Guests are given a litre of water, with another half litre if they fill in the guest register in advance and bring it with them. Rates differ between 'designated days' — weekends, public holidays and the busy periods — and weekdays, when a discount applies. Payment is cash only, at the front desk on arrival.
