2,460 m · Tateyama, Toyama · 1.4 km from the summit of Mount Jiigatake (Central Peak)
Lodge at 2,450m on gentle grassland southwest of Jiigatake in the Ushiro-Tateyama range, ringed by meadows of chinguruma, kobaikeiso and aono-tsugazakura, with the lights of the Azumino and Matsumoto basins visible at night. It is reached in a little over four hours from Ogisawa-deai along the Kashiwabara-shindo, a trail the lodge's second owner cut single-handedly and now one of the standard introductions to the Northern Alps; the south peak of Jiigatake is about 45 minutes further. Freshly baked pizza is a summer and autumn speciality. There is no water source nearby, so water is bought at the lodge.
