Shizuoka City-run hut at Kumanodaira on the Sen-shio ridge of the Southern Alps, on the crest linking Ainodake and Shiomidake, operated under contract by Tokushu Tokai Forest. It is far from every trailhead, reached either by traversing over Kitadake and Ainodake from Hirogawara on the Yamanashi side or by approaching from Shiomidake. No meals are served — lodging is bedding-only — but retort pouches, cup noodles and drinks are sold. Spring water rises beside the hut, and the terrace looks out on the silhouette of Nishi-Notoridake against the night sky. About 45 minutes north at Mikunidaira a traverse trail leads toward the headwaters of the Oi River. The campsite takes 25 tents, registered on arrival.
