Yakumo Town Ski Area is a town-run hill in the north of southern Hokkaido, with views across Uchiura Bay from the top. One chairlift serves three runs: the gentle Course C at an average 8.5 degrees, the intermediate-to-advanced Course A, and the advanced Course B at up to 28 degrees. The slopes are floodlit and stay open into the evening on weekdays, so locals ski after school or work. Tickets are sold by the hour or by the ride, with a shared sports pass for older residents, and there is a lodge and parking. The season runs until early March, and in March weekday sessions are held only in the evening.
