Wasamatayama Ski Area Closed
Official name 和佐又山スキー場
Nara
Wasamatayama Ski Area was a small slope at the foot of Mt. Wasamata in Kamikitayama, Nara, one of the very few places in the prefecture where people could ski. It had no lifts: visitors walked up a gentle slope of about 500 m suited to beginners and intermediates, in front of the Wasamatayama Hütte, the trailhead for Mt. Daifugen. The hut closed in 2019 because of its age, and in 2023 the site reopened as WASAMATA HUTTE, a hiking base and campsite. The ski area itself is listed as closed.
