Tsuruga Kokusai Ski Area Closed
Official name 敦賀国際スキー場
Fukui
Opened in 1968
Tsuruga Kokusai Ski Area was a small hill in southern Tsuruga, Fukui, beside Route 161 close to the Shiga border, directly across the road from the still-operating Kunizakai Kogen Snow Park. It opened in 1968 with one single-seat lift and three short runs over about 60 m of vertical, from easy to fairly steep. Despite the name, it had no international connection. It closed in the early 2000s, and its lift and buildings were left standing for years afterwards.
