Anpeizan Ski Area is a small town-run hill in the Oiwake district of Abira, Hokkaido, only about 25 minutes by car from New Chitose Airport and an hour from Sapporo. One pair lift serves beginner, tree-lined, intermediate and advanced runs, plus a free sledding slope, making it an easy family outing. Lift prices are low and free for local children, and the rest house has a kiosk and ski and snowboard rental. A combo ticket with the town's Nukumori-no-Yu hot spring is available. The season usually runs from late December to mid-March.
