Tamamine-san is an 820.4 m peak straddling Okuizumo Town in Nita District and Hirose-chō in Yasugi City, Shimane Prefecture, mentioned in the ancient Izumo no Kuni Fudoki gazetteer. The slopes hold the Otaki and Metaki falls — sources of the Kamekurui River — together with prominent boulders, and the Tamamine Forest Park provides a hiking course to the summit. From the top, a 360-degree view sweeps to Mount Sanbe and Mount Daisen. The Kamekurui Onsen "Tamamine Sansō" lodge at the foot serves as the trailhead base. The mountain is included in the Chūgoku 100 Famous Mountains, Chūgoku 100 Mountains, Japan's 1,000 Mountains and Mountains of Shimane (Bunken-tozan-guide) lists.
