Mt. Takejō

A 381.3-meter low mountain straddling the boundary between Koga City and Sue Town (Kasuya District) in Fukuoka Prefecture, set on the ridge that extends from Mt. Wakasugi. A third-class triangulation point and the earthworks of the medieval Takatori-i Castle occupy the summit, marked by a memorial stele and an interpretive plaque. The summit observation deck offers a 210-degree view of Fukuoka City and Hakata Bay, and the trail passes the Yakushi-no-taki waterfall, a Yakushi-dō hall and a Fudō Myōō image along the way. The most common ascent combines Wakasugi-yama in a round trip of about 5.4 km from Sarayama-kōen in Sue Town. Listed in Fukuoka Choteizan.
