Mt. Sekison (486 m) rises in the western part of Ashikaga City, Tochigi, on the Asoyama Range, listed among the 100 Famous Mountains of Tochigi and revered as a sacred site of the Sekison faith. The Sekison Shrine just below the summit hosts the annual Bonten Festival on 1 September, registered as an Ashikaga City Intangible Folk Cultural Property. The range around it is a Tochigi Prefectural Nature Conservation Area, and a 5-km hiking course laid out by Ashikaga City links Mt. Shinkō (506 m) with Mt. Sekison along the ridge, with views over the Nikkō and Akagi ranges and the Kantō Plain.
