Gyodosan (442 m), also called Sekisonzan, rises in Ashikaga, Tochigi Prefecture. Its cliff-girt temple, Gyodosan Joinji—founded by the monk Gyoki and nicknamed the "Mount Koya of the Kanto"—is a noted landmark, and a lookout near the summit sweeps over the Kanto Plain. The "Road Overlooking the Historic Town" course of the Metropolitan Nature Trail (Kanto Fureai-no-michi) runs over the peak toward Oiwayama, Ryogaiyama, and Ashikaga Orihime Shrine. It appears on many lists, including the "100 Famous Mountains of Kanto," "100 Mountains of Tochigi," and "100 Famous Low Mountains of Japan."
