Mt. Seihachi
清八山
Ōtsuki-shi, Yamanashi · Elevation 1,593 m
Mt. Seihachi (1,593 m) sits on the boundary of Ōtsuki and Tsuru in Yamanashi, at the northern end of the Misaka Range, listed as Peak No. 12 of Ōtsuki's "Twelve Splendid Fuji Views" and one of Tsuru's 21 Outstanding Peaks. Of the dozen Ōtsuki Fuji-view peaks, it is the closest to Mt. Fuji, and the summit looks straight across to the city of Fujiyoshida and Lake Kawaguchi at the base of the mountain, with the Southern Alps and Mt. Mitsutōge visible to either side. Most parties combine it with neighbouring Mt. Hongesemaru (also Peak No. 12), climbing the long ridge from JR Sasago Station via Mt. Tsunotogi, and the peak is much loved as a Fuji-view destination.
