Mt. Nijodake

Mt. Nijodake is a 711-meter peak in western Itoshima City, Fukuoka Prefecture — the namesake of the former town of Nijo and also known locally as Fukae-dake or Jogadake. Stone walls from the Sengoku-period Nijodake Castle remain just below the summit. A well-used hiking route climbs from the Kamo Yurarinko suspension bridge through Nijo Gorge and Kamo Shrine to the boulder-strewn summit, which commands sweeping views over the Itoshima Plain, the Genkai Sea, and out to Iki and Tsushima Islands.
