Mt. Nihongatsukayama is a 1,107.3 m peak in the Komadachi district (the former Tomiyama Village) of Toyone Village in Kita-Shitara District, deep in Aichi's Okumikawa region overlooking Lake Sakuma. Four long ridges radiate from its summit, draped in azaleas in spring and brilliant foliage in autumn, and the panorama from the top sweeps from the southern Japanese Alps across the Okumikawa peaks down to the dam lake. The mountain lies within Tenryū-Okumikawa Quasi-National Park and is climbed on the maintained A and B courses traversing 'False Nihongatsuka' from the Furusato Tomiyama Bungalow Village trailhead — the C-course descent toward Misawa is closed due to landslide damage. It is listed in the Aichi 130 Mountains, Tōkai 100 Mountains, Aichi Mountain Guide, Japan 1000 Mountains and Tōkai Weekend Hiking Best 120.
