Mt. Komonji

A 366 m peak on the boundary of Kokura-Kita and Kokura-Minami wards in Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka, on the southern flank of the Adachi-yama range. The summit affords sweeping views of Kokura and the Kanmon Strait, and on 13 August each year the 'Komonji-yaki' fire-character is lit on its slopes. It forms part of the city's Kissha Nature Trail (Adachi-yama course).
