Shihodai is a 619 m plateau-like summit on Hiraodai in Kokuraminami Ward, Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture. Hiraodai is one of Japan's major karst plateaus, 300-700 m high and some 6 km north to south by 2 km east to west; its scattered white limestone and its caves are designated natural monuments, and the area lies within Kitakyushu Quasi-National Park. On Kitakyushu City's official Hiraodai nature-walk route, Shihodai is passed twice: from the Fukiage Pass car park over Ōhirayama (586.5 m) and the Ōana and Koana dolines to Shihodai, out and back to Nukiyama, then from Shihodai again down by Nakatōge to the Chagatoko meadow.
