Mt. Shakudake

Shakudake is a 608 m peak where Nōgata City, the Yahatanishi Ward of Kitakyushu City and Kurate Town meet in Fukuoka Prefecture, marking the northern end of the Fukuchi Mountain Range. It lies within the Fukuchi sector of Kitakyushu Quasi-National Park, and its flattish summit offers views to Sarakurayama, Fukuchiyama and the Genkai Sea. Trailheads include Keyaki-dani on the Kitakyushu side and Ryūōkyō on the Nogata side, and a forest nature trail links the peak south to Fukuchiyama. The mountain appears in the "Mountains of Fukuoka" prefectural guide.
