Mt. Kokuzō

虚空蔵山

An approximately 138-meter low mountain at the western edge of the Nomi Hills in Nomi City, Ishikawa Prefecture, spanning the towns of Wake, Terabatake, and Tate. The summit holds the ruins of Kokuzō-yama Castle, a Sengoku-era stronghold of the Kaga Ikkō-ikki that fell to Sakuma Morimasa's army under Oda Nobunaga in 1575. The slopes are now maintained as Kokuzō Satoyama Park, with walking paths and a forest aerial-athletics facility.
