Kitahiroyama, also called Shimamatsuyama, is a roughly 493-metre hill on the ridge marking the boundary of Sapporo, Kitahiroshima, and Eniwa in Hokkaido, and the highest point of Kitahiroshima City. One of the "50 Peaks of Sapporo," its true summit lies within a Self-Defense Force training ground and is off-limits, so the 487-metre reachable high point serves as the climbers' goal. It is an easy hike popular with beginners.
