Mt. Iwa (Kanuma Iwayama, 328 m) is a low peak in Kanuma City, Tochigi Prefecture, and is included in the Tochigi 100 Famous Mountains list. The trail begins at Hiyoshi Shrine and reaches a rocky ridge in about fifteen minutes, with chained and ladder-aided rock sections lending an athletic feel uncommon at this elevation. A scenic bench above the first major rock wall overlooks Kanuma's farmland and townscape, while the summit looks north to the Nikkō range and south to the Tochigi hills. Long popular as an introductory rock-climbing practice ground, the modest peak punches well above its altitude.
