Mt. Ontakesan

御嶽山

Ontakesan (also written 御嶽山) is a 546 m peak west of Kogashiyama (583 m) in Utsunomiya, Tochigi, and one of the "Seven Famous Mountains of Ōya." Its summit holds a stone shrine of the Ontake faith brought from Kiso-Ontake in the late Edo period, and commands views of Mount Tsukuba, the Takahara range, and the Nikkō mountains. Formerly called Nakanotoridani-yama, it appears in "Yamanami Walks around the Kanto Region."
