Mount Toragozen

Mount Toragozen is a 224 m hill in Nagahama City, Shiga Prefecture, preserving the ruins of Toragozen-yama Castle, built by Oda Nobunaga in 1572 as a forward base against the nearby Odani Castle of the Asai clan. The ridge still holds the linked enclosures of Nobunaga's headquarters and the camps of his commanders Shibata Katsuie and Takigawa Kazumasu, now developed as a historic park with hiking trails that look east to Mount Ibuki and west to Lake Biwa. The peak is listed in the 70 Mountain Castles of Ōmi.
