Mount Takahata
高旗山
Kōriyama, Fukushima · Elevation 968 m
Mount Takahata is a 968 m peak in western Koriyama City, Fukushima Prefecture, on the southern Ou Mountains. Local legend says Minamoto no Yoshiie raised his battle standard high on the summit, which now holds a first-class triangulation point and Fukushima's only astronomical observation point. About an hour's climb from the Genda Onsen trailhead, the summit looks out over the Nasu, Adatara and Azuma ranges. It is included in the Utsukushima 100 Mountains and several other Fukushima compilations.
