Mount Shintate is a 325.7-metre hill straddling the boundary between Akama in Munakata City and Kurakyū/Kasamatsu in Miyawaka City, Fukuoka Prefecture, also known as Mount Gongen. Once a training site for the Hōman-Mountain yamabushi, the peak is now reached by maintained trails from the Hirayama and Shosuke-Furusato-Mura trailheads on the Munakata side and from Yamazaki on the Miyawaka side; the wooded summit affords a 360-degree panorama from the Genkai Sea to Mount Fukuchi and the Inunaki Range. It is included in the Fukuoka Prefecture Super-Low Mountains selection.
