Mt. Kasagi is a 425.1 m low peak on the boundary between Miyawaka City and Iizuka City in Fukuoka Prefecture, crowned by the ruins of Kasagi Castle reportedly built by the Munakata clan before 1568 and later held by the Akizuki clan, whose main and secondary baileys, dry moats, and stone-wall fragments still survive. The scenic Sengoku Gorge runs along the mountain's northern foot, and rare groves of red oak grow along the ridge. The summit is traditionally identified as the descent point of Nigihayahi-no-Mikoto, enshrined at nearby Tenshō Shrine. The peak is included on the Fukuoka Super-Low Mountains and Fukuoka Prefecture Mountain Guide lists.
