Mt. Konomiyama

A 271-meter low-elevation peak on the border of Munakata City and Fukutsu City in Fukuoka Prefecture, known for its sweeping views of the Genkai Sea and for the ruins of Konomi Castle at its summit, said to have been built by the Munakata Daigūji clan about a thousand years ago. Two trails serve the mountain — the Ōmaru trailhead on the Munakata side and the Yanami trailhead on the Fukutsu side — each reaching the summit in roughly 40–50 minutes. The peak is listed among the Fukuoka Ultra-Low Mountains (福岡県超低山) and is popular as an easy family hike.
