Mount Oshamanbe

Mount Oshamanbe is a 972.4 m peak in Oshamanbe Town, Hokkaido, marking the northern end of the Oshima Range and forming the watershed divide between the Sea of Japan and the Pacific (Uchiura Bay). The lower half of the trail follows the old service road of the abandoned Futamata Mine; ruins of mine buildings remain at the 710 m mark, and a bench and bear bell are installed at the fifth station. The summit affords a sweeping panorama over Uchiura Bay and the southern Hokkaido peaks of Mounts Kariba and Yōtei, and the mountain is counted among the 100 Famous Mountains of Hokkaido.
