Mount Hitobone

Mount Hitobone is a 292 m low mountain in Ookuzure, Kyonan Town, southern Boso Peninsula, Chiba Prefecture. The narrow summit offers views of Mount Iyo and the surrounding southern Boso hills, and its foothills are famed for the Okuzure daffodil fields. The peak's macabre name ("human bones") is tied to a local legend of an ogre demanding village sacrifices, and the mountain appears in several Boso peak guides including the Chiba Bunken Tozan Guide and Boso no Yama 110.
