Mount Nokogiri is a 329.5 m peak straddling Futtsu City and Kyonan Town in Chiba, also known by its older name Kenkonzan. The serrated rock walls along the ridge — the source of the "Saw Mountain" name — are scars left by Edo-period quarries that mined Bōshū stone. The southern slope holds Nihon-ji, said to have been founded by the monk Gyōki and one of the oldest imperial-prayer temples in the Kantō, with a giant Yakushi Buddha, the 100-foot Kannon, and 1,500 stone arhats arrayed across the grounds. The Jigoku-nozoki ("Hell-View") platform juts out over the cliff and frames Tokyo Bay and Mount Fuji on clear days. The peak is accessible by ropeway, mountain driveway, or hiking trail, and features in Kantō Hyakumeizan, Nihon Hyaku Teizan, and Bōshū Low Meizan.
