Mt. Dainichiyama

Mt. Dainichiyama is a 333.3 m peak in the Masuma district of Minamibōsō City in Chiba Prefecture, lying on the main spine of the Bōsō Hills along the ridge that extends southeast from Mt. Goten (363.7 m). Its summit holds a stone Dainichi Nyorai Buddha image enshrined since the early Edo period and commands a 360-degree panorama across the Pacific to the east and Tokyo Bay — at times with Mount Fuji visible — to the west. It is reached on the Yamada, Shioido and Hata routes, most often as a traverse from Mt. Goten, and is listed in the Bōshū Low Famous Mountains, the Chiba Mountain Guide, the Bōsō Mountains 110, the Bōsō Mountain Records, and the Kantō Day-Hike 130.
