Byobuiwa (Ichi-no-mine)

Byobuiwa Ichi-no-mine is a 936-meter peak in Soni, Nara Prefecture, the high point of the great columnar-jointed cliff wall "Byobuiwa" (a National Natural Monument), some 150 meters high and stretching about 2 kilometers. The Byobuiwa Park at its foot is known for some 300 wild cherry trees, and the peak lies on a traverse linking Sumitsukayama and Kunimiyama. It is within Murou-Akame-Aoyama Quasi-National Park and is counted among Japan's 1000 Mountains.
